Sport fishing in the Costa Brava, Spain

Sport fishing in the Costa Brava (Girona, Spain) is very exciting. Although the Tramontana (violent northern wind) often makes fishing difficult - especially around the Cabo de Creus (National Park) - it will never stop the fishermen exploring these fishing grounds. The best known ports of the area are Rosas, Palamós, Lloret de Mar, Blanes, L'Escala or Cadaqués - just to mention a few of them.

The irregular sea floor and the strong currents that come from the Gulf of Leon, attract a lot of fish.

The little bays and rocky coast line are very attractive for casting and jigging. The warm months are perfect for inshore trolling (bonito, mackerel, bluefish, leerfish...) and for off shore trolling (bluefin tuna, albacore, swordfish...).
