Sea Fishing in Marbella

A few years ago, Oscar changed its home port of Benalmadena, for Puerto Banus. Besides being a flagship port, the main reason for this move to Banús, was that the port is located just 15 minutes by boat to the best fishing areas around Malaga. While the seabed off the coast of Benalmadena is mainly sandy, here in Puerto Banus there are a wide range of rock formations, ridges and wrecks. For example, less than two miles from the port is an area called "Las Bóvedas", where the seabed rises from 70 meters to only 19 meters. Clearly these seamounts generate tremendous currents and attract a lot of fish. In addition, only 20 miles away is the Strait of Gibraltar, a real nursery, which feeds the area with large predators such as the pink dentex, amberjack or grouper...
Banús is just outside the "funnel" in the Strait of Gibraltar, which does not suffer the harsh weather of the Strait. Many are the days when the weather prevents fishing in the Strait, but there are no problems in the area of Banús.

The captain is highly experienced in all types of fishing techniques, but completely recommended deep sea fishing and deep sea trolling. It is the surest way to catch fish, and at the same time catch nice specimens such as dentex, red porgy, amberjack, Moroccan dentex, red hind and other large predators.
For those that prefer big game fishing, we can asure you that Oscar is the best for the job. The possibilities of catching tuna, Mediterranean marlin, swordfish, and other large types of marlin are great when you are with this guy.
The seabed in the area near Malaga and Benalmadena is relatively flat and sandy. To find depths of 100 meters or more, you have to go out several miles from the coast. In front of Marbella and Puerto Banus, however, el marine bottom is rocky with depths that are clearly marked. It’s a paradise for fishing, as there is an abundance of fish. There are areas, such as ‘Las Bovedas’ for example, where the marine bottom rises from 70 meters to only 19 meters in depth. It is clear that these underwater mountains generate tremendous currents and attract lots of fish.
Deep sea fishing and deep sea trolling are widely practiced to catch amberjack, Pink dentex, grouper or dentex, among others. At sea, you can fish for bluefin tuna, swordfish, marlin and the Mediterranean marlin.

15 pound rods with Daiwa BG 90 reels for deep sea trolling which is very poplular in Málaga especially for catching dentex, sea bass, Pink dentex, amberjack, etc..

We use 30 pound rods and reels for trolling. For chumming we use 80 pound rods and 130 pound Shimano reels. Also Shimano 50 pound reels.
