It Takes 2 to Tango
"It takes two to Tango" the English often say. And it's true: to fish you need fish and fisherman.
Its been many years now that recreational fishing is no longer exclusively for filling the fridge. There are more and more fans who, after having enjoyed a battle between man and beast, release the fish back into the water. In my opinion, it’s a nice gesture to catch a predator, take pictures and return it to the sea to live and to do all over again.
I do not want to be an eco-extremist, and I do admit that occasionally I take a nice catch home to enjoy for dinner with my family and friends. But what I don’t like is to kill for the sake of killing. Last year, I reprimanded some boys who had caught 124 mackerels and brought them to the dock (what on earth can you do with 124 mackerels?!?). Well, the boys did not know what to do with all the fish. Unfortunately, many of the fish ended up in the garbage ...
In short, I am nobody to point the finger I just want to support fishermen and captains who are environmentally friendly and above all friendly to our common "adversary" the fish. Many fishing charters from dPesca.com represent and practice responsible fishing.
We must behave as responsible fishermen. The seas are already suffering too much with the dumping, pollution, overfishing, traffic, etc ... as for recreational fishing also crush the fishing ...
So if we are careful, then we won’t have to learn to dance the Tango, and we will be able to continue to enjoy our hobby: fishing
The tuna in the photos were released back in the sea: the first picture is of a tuna that weighed almost 20kg during 'Torredembarra Desafio Mediterraneo' in May 2010. It was released after being tagged. Other tuna were caught and released during a fishing trip in late June 2010.
